After three months of attempting to write a “hit,” Rachel Platten’s publisher called her and asked why she hadn’t yet told her story.

“I didn’t want to talk about the struggle, I told her I didn’t want to go there. But I finally relented, more out of just the need to get it out. “Fight Song” was that story. The story of the many rejections I received from record labels, the countless closed doors; and despite all of it, that tiny but brave voice in my heart that wouldn’t let me give up on myself or my dream.”
