But money or health worries, family tensions, loneliness or isolation don’t simply vanish when the holidays are near. In fact, these stresses can be worse at this time of year. And, for the one in five of us who will cope with Depression at some point in our life, the pressure to be festive can make Christmas an especially difficult time.
For this reason Wondrlusrt are delighted to support to wonderful charitable organisations who go to great lengths to bring some level of comfort and joy to those people less fortunate at this time of year. These are:
Action for Happiness helps people take practical action for a happier and more caring world.
Our patron is The Dalai Lama and we have thousands of members taking action to increase wellbeing in their homes, workplaces, schools and local communities. Our vision is a happier world, with far fewer people suffering with mental health problems and far more people feeling good, functioning well and helping others.
The Trust was set up in 1998 in memory of Charlie Waller, a young man who took his own life whilst suffering from depression. Shortly after his death, his family founded the Trust in order to educate young people on the importance of staying mentally well and how to do so.
Over the years the Trust has grown into an independent charity that works with partners in the health service, education and the private sector across the country. We also work with other charities and family trusts with similar aims and backgrounds.
