That’s when the 22-year-old waiter kindly offered to help feed the man.

Nearly 2 million people are living with a limb loss of some kind in the U.S., and it can be difficult for them to do tasks that we all take for granted. Providing assistance to them, no matter how small, can make a big difference. Reginald Widener was sitting at the restaurant’s bar when he spotted Ruiz generously feeding the man.

“He had a smile on his face the entire time,” Widener told CBS News. “He didn’t complain about it; it looked like he really cared.”

Crystal Figueroa, a waitress at the restaurant, said that Ruiz stayed with the customer until he was finished eating. Widener captured a photo of the kind act and posted it onto Facebook.

“The world needs more people to be positive,” he told CBS News.

After the photo went viral, Cinco De Mayo Mexican Grill shared the photo on its Facebook page and wrote,

“There are some amazing people in this world! We are thankful to have some working for us!”
