As this an Official attempt there are certain rules in which to follow to ensure that the record is achieved correctly…
OFFICIAL WORLD RECORD DEFINITION
This record is for the greatest number of people Carolling. ‘Carolling’ is defined as singing Christmas hymns/song in a group, door-to-door.
RULES
1. Participants must receive a carol sheet or recite words
2. Everyone must sing in unison
3. The group must be led by a conductor
4. Only Christmas carols/hymns may be sung
5. Participants must perform one complete carol in front of each door
6. A minimum of 10 doors
7. Everyone must sing for the duration, those who don’t will be disqualified
8. All singers have a maximum of 5 minutes to travel from one door to the next door
9. Max 5 doors on any one road/street. Doors must not be next to each other
10. No carols must be repeated at two consecutive stops/doors
11. Live music or playback may be used but is not essential
12. 1 steward must supervise 50 people for the duration of event
13. If there is more than 10% total non-carollers the attempt will be disqualified
14. Attendees must be accurately counted and registered
15. Evidence required i.e, filming, photography, witness statements
