1) Serve those in need at your local soup kitchen or homeless shelter.
2) Spend one Saturday morning a month at an animal shelter and make a difference in these animal’s lives.
3) Visit the elderly at a rest home or nursing care facility.
4) Take one afternoon a week to mentor kids at a local Boys & Girls Club or similar youth organization.
5) Lend your time to a food bank and help deliver goods to the needy.
6) Go artsy! A lot of local museums and theaters rely on volunteers to maintain their day-to-day operations – donate your time while also embracing culture.
7) Check out the local parks and wildlife posts around you for ways to help out in your community’s natural environment.
8) Donate books to your local Salvation Army, thrift store, library, or school.
9) Spend time with those who are sick and alone at the hospital. A little time, attention and cheering up goes a really long way.
10.) Plant a tree! Simple and sweet. Giving time to the planet and volunteering your energy will make the world look better, and create a more beautiful place for all of us to live.
